Directorate of Foreign Universities Relations (DUFR)

Fostering Global Academic Partnerships and International Student Engagement

The Directorate of University Foreign Relations (DUFR) at Jawaharlal Nehru Technological University Kakinada (JNTUK) was established in September 2008 to address the needs of international students. Situated at the core of JNTUK’s Kakinada campus, the DUFR is led by a Director who maintains regular communication with international organizations, including Indian Embassies and Consulates abroad, to provide updated information on the university’s academic programs and curriculum for prospective foreign students. The DUFR’s services have earned significant recognition and demand for their quality. International students can reach out to the Director and staff at DUFR for assistance with academic, personal, or health-related concerns throughout their stay. The directorate also promotes partnerships between JNTUK and other Indian and international universities, facilitating exchange programs for faculty, researchers, and students.

The DUFR at JNTUK supports international students by providing details about available courses, fee structures, and admission processes, while also ensuring their well-being. JNTUK attracts a substantial number of international students compared to other Indian universities, aided by the affordable cost of living in Kakinada, which is notably lower than in many other cities. Currently, JNTUK hosts numerous foreign students enrolled in programs such as B.Tech., B.Tech (IDP), M.Tech., M.Sc., MBA, MCA, and Ph.D. across its various academic units. Additionally, JNTUK comprises four administrative units that manage academic planning, admissions, examinations, and related activities. The university’s jurisdiction spans the districts of East Godavari, West Godavari, Krishna, Guntur, Prakasam, and Visakhapatnam in Andhra Pradesh.
